Bearded Scallop

The Peconic Bay Scallop is an iconic animal. It’s known worldwide, but a die off due to the deadly brown tide on the East End of Long Island devastated the scallop population. I work for a Not-for-Profit that is dedicated to bring back the Peconic Bay Scallop. This was a shot I took while helping a Newsday reporter document the current situation of the populations of the scallops.
